Looking at things up-close reveals a fascinating world that hides in plain sight. When magnified a few times, even the most common things look completely different. This DIY microscope allows us to do just that with commonly available materials that cost almost nothing. Lenses from laser pointers that fit on smartphone cameras and a paper base that allows precise focusing make this little microscope a fun toy and an interesting scientific device. It has also been developed into a DIY version. To make your own, click here!
